On the 24th and 27th of February 2011 the art film “An Angel at my table” will be screened.
An Angel at my table - a film by Jane Campion at de Brak Movie Club
This film follows Janet Frame along her inspiring journey, from Poverty - stricken childhood to a misdiagnosis of schizophrenia and electroshock therapy to, finally, international literary fame. Beautifully capturing the colour and power of the New Zealand landscape, the film earned a sweep of this country’s film awards and a Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
